If you haven't made a visit to @PadstowFoodHall, then what are you waiting for?
On a Sunday, Monday and Tuesday between 10am and 4pm you will find me in this little shopping haven with my own table of treats including the perfect summer take away of a Cornish Cream Tea.
The great British public have been enjoying this afternoon treat for centuries and visitors to the West Country especially are now making this a must on their holiday tick list, and what better way to enjoy a cream tea than by having it as a take away for you to take to your favourite spot in Cornwall!
Our take away cream teas for two, consist of four freshly baked homemade scones made with our own recipe, Cornish strawberry jam made by @boddingtons_berries and the all important Cornish clotted cream from @roddas_cream
Once you've picked up one of our Cream Teas, next on the list is where to enjoy it, this could be somewhere along the Camel Trail with fantastic estuary views, one of the many incredible beaches we are blessed with, or you may just want to take it home to have within the comfort of your own garden, the possibilities of a perfect spot are endless and the choice is completely yours.
For us being in Cornwall there is only one way to prepare your scone and that is to break the scone in half by hand where it naturally wishes to tear apart, next spread some super fruity strawberry jam over the scone and then finish with a generous (don't be shy) dollop of rich clotted cream right on top in the middle of the scone, then sit back for a moment to admire this incredible creation and then tuck right in getting all three elements in one mouthful!
When in Cornwall a few things to remember...
The clotted cream is not butter, so please don't spread it onto the scone before the jam or on top of the jam, just dollop it right on!
Do not create a "burger" with your scone it really does take away the essence of this little treat and plus you're doing yourself out of jam and clotted cream!
If by any chance you don't finish all the scones in one sitting then just pop them through the oven to warm through!
It is more than acceptable to enjoy this afternoon treat every day whilst on holiday!
